Baldur’s Gate 3 already did pretty well for Larian Studios in early access, selling over 2.5 million copies before its final release for PC. However, the response from players, particularly on Steam, has been overwhelming. It saw over 470,000 peak concurrent players on its first day and has since surpassed the half-million mark.
The peak concurrent player count is 593,788, according to SteamDB, but that could increase further as the weekend rolls on. To put that into perspective, Baldur’s Gate 3 is now the second biggest Steam launch of the year, just behind Hogwarts Legacy. Its all-time player peak is ahead of big-name titles like Bethesda’s Fallout 4, Iron Gate’s Valheim, and much more.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available only on PC right now but will release on September 6th for PS5. Head here for more details on what to expect. Stay tuned for details on patches and hotfixes in the meantime.
