Alone in the Dark will be hoping to join the ever-growing list of recent survival horror success stories when it launches later this year, but with a few months still left until its launch, there’s plenty about it that we don’t know yet. For instance, performance and resolution targets can prove to be stumbles for some releases- so where exactly will Pieces Interactive and THQ Nordic’s horror reimagination stand on that?
In a recent interview with THQ Nordic associate producer Andreas Schmiedecker, when asked about the game’s FPS and resolution targets, we were told that the game will indeed feature a 60 FPS mode in addition to a 4K/30 FPS option.
“We’re currently targeting a 60 FPS performance mode with variable resolution and a quality mode at 30 FPS with 4K resolution,” Schmeidecker told GamingBolt.
What the native resolution for the performance mode will be remains to be seen, and there’s no word yet on what to expect from the game’s Xbox Series S version either, though fans will certainly be pleased to know that a performance mode option is going to be available.
During the interview, Schmeidecker also revealed that each of Alone in the Dark’s two protagonists will have a 6-10 hour campaign, and told us that THQ Nordic is “committed to the franchise in the long run” and will be open to making more instalments should the upcoming one be received well. Our full interview with Schmeidecker will be live soon, so stay tuned for that.
Alone in the Dark launches on October 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
