Resident Evil 2 and 3’s Ray Tracing Removal on Steam Will be Addressed “in a Future Update”

Capcom recently announced that it would be dropping support for the non-enhanced versions of Resident Evil 7, 2, and 3 on PC later this year, after which point their ray tracing versions would be the only ones that would be available on Steam. Bafflingly, however, the company soon followed that up by quietly doing the opposite and removing ray tracing and 3D audio options from all three games in a platform.

In a follow-up update on Twitter, the Japanese company has now clarified that as many may have guessed, that was a bug that it is working on a fix for. “We’re aware of an ongoing issue with the ray tracing option not appearing in the graphics menu and presets,” Capcom wrote. “We’ll have this addressed in a future update and apologize for any inconvenience.”

It’s worth noting, however, that only Resident Evil 2 and 3 are mentioned by Capcom in the message, with Resident Evil 7 having been left out.

How long this update will take to arrive remains to be seen, but hopefully it shouldn’t be too long. Stay tuned in the coming days for more updates.
