While Resident Evil 4 Remake‘s The Mercenaries mode is slated to become available to most of the game’s playerbase later today, some players—being able to access the mode early—have reported that the new game mode features microtransactions.
Caught by IGN, players have spotted upgrade tickets which can be purchased for the game through online stores. These tickets can be used to speed up progression through the game’s weapon upgrade trees faster, allowing players access to a weapon’s exclusive upgrade at any time.
Thanks to earlier datamines, players have also noticed that Ada Wong and Albert Wesker aren’t part of the playable roster of characters in the arcade-styled game mode yet. For reference, the original Mercenaries mode from Resident Evil 4 featured both characters as playable members of the roster.
Dataminer @AestheticGamer1 on Twitter indicates that the missing characters would be making their way to the game in a later update, with a Separate Ways DLC bringing Ada Wong and Albert Wesker, along with Leon Mafia and Ada Wong in her original Resident Evil 4 dress to the playable roster.
