Ubisoft has been at work on XDefiant for a while, and after a rough start following its initial reveal, the game seems to finally be gaining some much-needed traction and momentum ahead of its release last year. Recently, an Open Session was held for the multiplayer shooter, following which, Ubisoft has also made a few changes to its full launch.
In a tweet via the game’s official page, Ubisoft has announced that based on feedback from the aforementioned Open Session, the company has decided to push back the game’s PS4 and Xbox One versions. That means that at launch, XDefiant will be available only on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with last-gen consoles getting the game “later”.
How much later it’ll be remains to be seen, with Ubisoft only saying that it’ll provide more updates “as they’re available.”
That said, the game is still on track to launch this summer, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks and months.
A small update as we’re continuing to review feedback from the Open Session!
Plan is still to launch later this summer.
