Exoprimal Won’t Support Cross-Platform Parties at Launch

Exoprimal

Capcom’s Exoprimal is out later this week, providing some high-octane co-op PvEvP dinosaur-hunting action. Along with Street Fighter 6, it’s one of the first titles from the publisher to support cross-platform play for Xbox, PlayStation and PC players. Unfortunately, if you have friends on other platforms, you won’t be able to make parties with them.

In a new tweet, the developer clarified that crossplay would be available on day one but “party creation will be specific to each platform ecosystem.” It means that Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows Store users can party together, but not with PS4, PS5 or Steam players. The omission is particularly glaring for Steam users since they can’t party with anyone on other platforms or storefronts.

While it may not be a big deal, the lack of cross-platform parties seems like an oversight. Time will tell if this is changed, so stay tuned for updates.

Exoprimal is out on July 14th, and in addition to Xbox, PlayStation and PC, it will also be available at launch on Game Pass. A showcase is scheduled for July 10th at 4:30 PM PDT and promises new details.
