FromSoftware’s Elden Ring continues to perform well, according to publisher Bandai Namco’s recent Q2 fiscal year 2023 report (translation via DeepL). It hit 17.5 million sales worldwide as of September 30th, 2022, with its last major milestone being 16.6 million sales by June 30th. The open-world action RPG launched on February 25th and sold over 12 million units worldwide in less than a month.
Sales of new titles in the first half of the fiscal year totaled 5.4 million, with Digimon Survive and Taiko Drum Master noted to be “smash hits.” Sales numbers for each title haven’t been detailed.
As for the future of Elden Ring, datamining has discovered hints of potential DLC zones, 30 new flags for boss fights (which doesn’t necessarily mean 30 new bosses), and ray tracing support. Neither Bandai Namco nor FromSoftware has confirmed DLC or ray tracing to be in development. The latter has released updates with new features and balance changes, including separate damage scaling for PvP.
